CC3220MOD: Serial flash programming port

Part Number: CC3220MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

CC32xx Team,

For the CC3220MODSF, what port(s) can be used to program the serial flash?

Per the datasheet SWRS206A p.62 section 6.9.1, I expected UART0.  But it is confusing that on p.12 there are SPI pins with the description "External Flash Programming...".  Aren't these the pins the SPI flash actually hangs from?

Regards,

David

  • Hi David,

Yes you're right. The programming via Uniflash is as normal using UART0 (on module pins 46/47 (device pins 55/57)).

The SPI flash pins are indeed the pins connected between the CC3x2x and the SFLASH and are brought out externally so that the SFLASH can optionally be programmed using an external SPI flash programmer tool, rather than only from the CC3x2x.

    Hope that helps,
    ~roger
