WL18XX-BT-SP: Request for support on WL1873 for WIFI RF testing

Part Number: WL18XX-BT-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDXEVM3358, TMDSEVM437X

I am a Test Equipment designer for PCB test equipment used in PCB production of the company IPTE Factory Automation NV in Belgium

Our customer Flextronics have requested us to make a Test equipment to test the RF performance of Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS of a module with a TI WL1873 chip on it

The Module is developed by Panasonic and is produced by Flextronics.

For the GPS and Bluetooth I have for the moment sufficient info about the HCI communication protocol and command info

But the WiFi part is controlled via the SDIO bus.

For the SDIO control I didn’t find any low level protocol and command Info

I found that there is a WiLink driver available from TI that Runs on top of Linux with a AM335X or AM437x TI Processor.

We intend to use one of your EVM boards with one of these Processors in our Test equipment that runs an application using the WiLink driver.

The TMDXEVM3358 or the TMDSEVM437X, is there a preference on which one to use? Or is there a other EVM that is even better suited?

The kind of tests we have to do are :

2.4GHz WIFI output power

2.4GHz WIFI Frequency Error

2.4GHz WIFI Error Vector Magnitude(EVM)
2437 CCK-11 TX1

2.4GHz WIFI Error Vector Magnitude(EVM)
2437 OFDM-54 TX1

2.4GHz WIFI Error Vector Magnitude(EVM)
2437 MCS7 HT20 TX1

2.4GHz WIFI Error Vector Magnitude(EVM)
2437 MCS7 HT40 TX1

2.4GHz WIFI Receive(PER Measurement)
PER 2437 MCS7 HT20 RX1

2.4GHz WIFI Receive(PER Measurement)
PER 2437 MCS7 HT40 RX1

TX_VERIFY_EVM 5180 MCS0 HT20 TX1

TX_VERIFY_EVM 5180 MCS7 HT20 TX1

TX_VERIFY_EVM 5180 MCS7 HT40 TX1

RX_VERIFY_PER 5180 MCS7 HT20 RX1

TX_VERIFY_EVM 5805 MCS0 HT20 TX1

TX_VERIFY_EVM 5805 MCS7 HT20 TX1

TX_VERIFY_EVM 5805 MCS7 HT40 TX1

RX_VERIFY_PER 5805 MCS7 HT40 RX1

So All basic RF measurement on the WiFi transceiver

Is there a document describing the Functions of the WiLink driver that need to be executed to do these kind of tests?

Or could one of your Chip support engineers support us to define the List of functions to be called?
