CC3200MODLAUNCHXL: High packet errors at specific power levels

Part Number: CC3200MODLAUNCHXL

Hello -

I am having this issue where at certain receiver input power levels (average RSSI reading of the CC3200 receiver), I am getting a very high number of packet errors.

The test setup is one CC3200 transmitting to another CC3200 which is receiving with a variable attenuator in between.  When the receiving CC3200 receives a stream of packets with an average RSSI of -33 or -43 dBm, I will get thousands of packet errors.  If the receiving CC3200 receives a stream of packets with an average RSSI around -33 or -43 (i.e. -30 or -38 or -56 etc.), I will get no packet errors.  Can anyone explain the reason for this?

The transmitter is transmitting a 1400 byte packet at 54 Mbps in continuous mode. Power = 0. Amount = 0 (inf). Data Pattern = All 0.  Channel = 7 (2442 MHz).

Thanks
