The oob document mentions that the LED control function is only available on SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® Starter Pro V2.2.22. which i get it from google play store.
But TI site not update this message, you can check the link as the following:

Another, WIFI-STARTER-PRO-ANDROID-SOURCE v2.2.17 13-JUN-2016 is also not update.
Can you provide WIFI-STARTER-PRO-ANDROID-SOURCE v2.2.22 to me for reference? If yes ,this will be very helpful to my process of development.
