CC3200: Max Receive Power

Hi all,

We are working on an RF front end for the CC3200. I wanted to know what the MAX RF Input power is for the device. The data sheet states that it handles -4 dBm for 802.11b and -10 dBm for 802.11g. I see that these values are the threshold for a 10% PER.

I'm not really interested in performance for this question, just want to know the maximum power input that the CC3200 can handle before the components are damaged.

Can the CC3200 handle 0 dBm without damaging the receiver? 10 dBm?

Hi,

Table 4.1 of the datasheet shows the max voltage on the RF pin as 2.1V, RF path if design according to recommendation should be 50ohms.

Calculating the power and converting that to dBm gives a max RX power of about 19dBm.

I saw that and came out with the same calculation, but I wanted someone from TI to confirm I was thinking about this correctly.
