Hello everyone,

I have tried MQTT protocol with CC3100 and MSP430F5529. I have imported the project from cc3100 sdk and also followed the steps whatever it is mentioned in docs of cc3100 sdk. But I got an error that code size exceeds.

Kindly resolve the isssue.

Hi Abhishek,

I just built this example with CC3100SDK v1.2.0 and don't see an issue with the code size.

Have you modified the memory allocation on the MSP430F5529 device? Is that the only error / warning in the console output when you build the mqtt_client application?

Yes I have only that code size issue.I don't have any warnings. Tell me how to modify the memory allocation on Msp430f5529 launchpad?

Another thing in the document it is written that "Porting MQTT library to a specific MCU", but I don't know how to port MQTT library. Please guide me.

Hi Abhishek,

You shouldn't need to modify this with the default example. I was just wondering if you had for any reason.

The porting of the MQTT library itself (not the entire host driver) is pretty simplistic. You need to implement two functions platform_timer_init() and platform_get_time_in_secs() as stated on the wiki - http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC3100_MQTT_Client#Porting_MQTT_library_to_a_specific_MCU

For platform_timer_init(): Setup a timer reference on your host that can keep track of seconds passed.

For platform_get_time_in_secs(): Read the timer you created and return the number of seconds.

The demo uses reading an RTC for this function.
