To connect to a host MCU, do I need the UART interface or can I use ONLY the SPI interface?

Hi Silviu,

You can use only the SPI for the host interface, but you may want to keep in mind your application's requirements during production. For example, without the UART you lose the ability to format the serial flash. For more details, refer to the Production Line guide: http://www.ti.com/lit/swra569

So I understand that if I make provisions to access the FLASH using an SPI programmer, I do not ever need the UART interface to the host controller (which I don't have).
