What is the minimum memory required for supporting OTA (for a medium complex application) ?
I have read that apart from the 1MB flash, CC3220SF need external flash for its functioning (using NWP etc). If so what is the advantage of having 1MB on board ?

At minimum, you would need a 4 MB external flash, so that a failsafe MCU image can be maintained, and also room for the service pack and configuration files.

Thanks Aaron. So what's the advantage of CC3220SF as it provides just 1MB ?

Hi,

XIP flash in CC3220SF is used for execution of code. It have nothing to do with external flash or OTA update.

CC3200 or CC3220S ... code is executed from 256kB RAM
CC3220SF ... code is executed from internal XIP flash and "all" RAM is free for your usage
