CC3100: cc3100 rated power and tolerance for each channel when transmitting at maximum power

Hi all,

Currently im running FCC testing on a device we have developed using the CC3100 IC. We are going to perform SAR testing on device and we need to provide the test lab with a declaration for the CC3100 power in terms of average power.

Can someone provide me with the rated power and tolerance for each channel when transmitting at maximum power please?

Dear Tristan -
see the CC3100 Datasheet ==> www.ti.com/.../cc3100.pdf
page 11 shows highest typical power out of the device itself, with all the possible modulation rates, on Channel 7
all other channels should be lower and the SAR/MPE testing expectations should be based on this, plus whatever antenna (gain) you have connected and separation distance you have created in your application hardware housing.

Dear Josh,

Is it possible to provide me with all the maximum target average power for all channels (i.e 1-11)? and provide us with any tolerances and loss from the CC3100 design please?

We have used the same design layout recommended by you.

And can i contact you via email please?

Yes they do look similar.

By any chance do you know the tune up table used for CC3100MOD? I need to quote such a table for FCC filing.

Would you be able to provide me with such information, please?

Hi Charles,

As part of FCC certification, the manufacturer must prove a maximum power declaration. This should include power output tolerances.

Do you agree with the following table below as our maximum power declaration for channel 1,6, 11 at maximum output power setting for CC3100 power output transmissions?
