CC3220: CC32xx external LNA or PA

Hi All,

According this this post the CC3200 doesn't support an external LNA or PA, but I was wondering if there were any changes made to the CC3220, and if it can't support an LNA/PA, could you please explain why?

Hi,

The CC3220 also doesn't have an external PA and does not support it .

Thanks for the prompt reply! What about an external LNA, and could you please elaborate on why the CC3220 doesn't support an external PA?

Dear Barend -
the TX and RX paths are not separated on the device (it is single ended) - therefore an amplifier could technically be connected, but then the RX would have no return path.
