CC3200MOD: How many tx/rx buffers is there in NWP

Hi,

This is all internal to NWP and you can only get the free TX packets count during any command/event transaction.

This is the flow control mechanism of the host driver.

You can look at _SlDrvMsgRead() and get the g_pCB->FlowContCB.TxPoolCnt from every transaction from NWP to host.

If you look under socket.c (in SDK v1.3.0), you will notice _SlPayloadByProtocolLUT.

This lookup table shows the payload size of TX buffers according to the IP/Datagram layer.

This is the amount of bytes for a single buffer in the TX pool.

For RX pool, it is a little larger to also have additional room for metadata (internal usage) but for your concern you can assume the same size (i.e. the maximum you can get per buffer).

For example, at the case of “SL_SOCKET_PAYLOAD_TYPE_RAW_IP6”, according to the _SlPayloadByProtocolLUT in socket.c the maximum data size is 1480 octet. Therefore, Tx buffer can save the data from 55*46 octet to 55*1480 octet.

Is my understanding correct?
