CC3200MOD WiFi Compliance/Certificate

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200MOD

I have been contracted to bring a prototype system to production after their embedded engineer left the company. There is a copy of the TI CC3200MOD on a board slated to be part of the new product design. I need to know that our company needs to do to have WiFi certification to use the C3200MOD. A CC3200MOD url states that, "WiFi Alliance Members can request certificate transfer of WiFi CERTIFIED modules."  www.ti.com/.../datasheet

  • Hi Gary,

Please see wiki page - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC3100_&_CC3200_Certifications

In brief... WiFi Alliance certification is optional and is not mandatory to usage of CC3200MOD. For your final product you need do radio certification (FCC, CE, etc.) and other certification according law requirements (LVD directive in EU, etc.). In some special cases you can reuse radio certification for CC3200MOD provided by TI and decrease price of certification of your device.
