CC3100BOOST: flashing the CC3100 without the EMUBoost

Hi,

How can I flash an SSL/TLS certificate to the cc3100 without using the EMUBOOST. Can I use a host MCU? I am currently using the MSP430F5299 as host.

Hi Caspar,

You have two opotions:
1. Use embedded programming ( processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC3100_&_CC3200_Embedded_Programming_Tool ). But I am not sure if baudrate 921600bps cannot be issue for your MSP.
2. Use filesystem API and upload your certificates as any other file in flash by sl_Fs API /sl_FsOpen(), sl_FsWrite(), sl_FsClose()/

Using the sf API:

How will I know where the file gets stored on the cc3100 and can i control it?

And can it actually transfer files (other then .txt) from my pc directly to the cc3100 and store it there?

Hi Caspar,

Please see www.ti.com/.../swru368 at chapter 14. Certificates and keys are standard files in sl_ filesystem and can be manipulated by filesystem API. This wiki page can be useful processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC3100_Production_Line_Guide

If you want write files into serial flash directly without host communication, you can do it by UART using:
- Uniflash software
- Embedded programming
