CC3200: CC3200 - Firmware Reset

I am evaluating a module manufactured by USRIOT specifically their USR-WIFI232 module.

I am wondering if there is any way to reset the CC3200 back to original TI firmware. I've connected to their module through the serial lines and find that I am unable to use Uniflash to put any of my own software on it.

Could the CC3200 chip be reset by any method I wonder?

Hi,

I think inside USR-WIFI232 is not CC3200. CC3200 is inside USR-C322 module.

Sorry. Yes. That is correct.
Is it possible to use Uniflash with this module or somehow reset the CC3200 so that I can program the flash?

Hi,

To be able use Uniflash with CC3200 chip you need:
- set SOP02 to high
- reset CC3200
- connect to bootlaoder via UART by Uniflash

This procedure is applicable to all standard CC3200 chips. I am not aware to exist some "non standard" CC3200 chips. Also I am not aware to any type of protection mechanism at CC3200.
Another option can be unsolder SPI flash chip and using SPI programmer upload gang image.
