Linux/WL1831MOD: Hidden SSID not connectable, known issue?

Part Number: WL1831MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1831

Tool/software: Linux

Hello Ti Support Team,

one of our customers is seeing a problem with hidden SSIDs. He is not able to connect to them with a WL1831 and the NetworkManager. NetworkManager itself is using wpa_supplicant. Personally I believe that there is an issue with the NetworkManager but I also want to know, if there are known issues from your side regarding connecting to networks with hidden SSIDs?

We are using a mainline Linux kernel version 4.9.51 with a Microchip-SoC and the WL18xx drivers that are included there.
Firmware version of the WL1831 is Rev 8.9.0.0.75

The WL1831 is working fine (after deactivating the powersafe features) except the connection problem to hidden SSIDs.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Best Regards,
Frank Erdrich
