Hi Anders,

TI offers a migration guide from Gen1 (CC3x00) to Gen2 (CC3x20) here:
dev.ti.com/.../SimpleLink_Gen1_to_Gen2_SDK_Migration_Guide.html

While the guide covers mainly moving from the CC3200 to the CC3220, the host driver changes and the porting code in the appendix is also applicable to the CC3100 to CC3120 migration.

The Guide doesnt seems to cover hardware. Are any HW changes needed when changing from CC3100 to CC3120?

Hi Anders,

Please take a look at the CC3120 hardware design checklist, which can be downloaded from the CC3120 product page:
www.ti.com/.../technicaldocuments

In the spreadsheet, there is a tab("Migration-QFN") that goes over the hardware changes required from CC3100 to CC3120.

Hi Anders, a solder mask change is recommended due to the difference in ground pads.
