CC3220MOD: SOP configuration

Hi community !

I have read the other posts on SOP (including Roger's comment in this post : )

However, I am still confused as to which SOP configuration has to be used in production / assembly stages.

What is the proper config for the final product? It seems that all the modes described in chapter 6.9 "Boot Modes" are kind of "development modes".

We are afraid that leaving our final product in e.g. UARTLOAD_FUNCTIONAL_4WJ will open a huge door for attacks on our product.

Isn't there a mode which is "only functional" ?

In deployed products, either UARTLOAD_FUNCTIONAL or 4WJ_FUNCTIONAL.

Why do you see it as a concern?

If the attacker is not breaking the device physically, I do not see how it can become a potential attack.

That was precisely my concern. If they break the device physically, then put the device in uart load mode. Then read the firmware out. Or load a corrupted image.

But if they break the device, it would get ruined anyway. What would it help if we had only functional mode? if you are worry with reading the data, you should be safe as the data on the serial flash is encrypted.
