CC3200: CC3200

Part Number: CC3200

Hi all,

I don't know if I'm asking in the right forum but I'm interesting to design a video doorbell and I have seen the based on CC3200 design. It is a good reference but I need to have a MCU based on a chip running at 868MHz (for example CC1352, since I have yet an evaluation board) + a Image sensor with H265 compression mode instead of the one used in the reference that has H264. Please, can you suggest to me any PNs?

Thanks,

Antonio.

  • Hi Antonio,

To clarify, you are not wanting to use Wi-Fi for your video doorbell? You are wanting to do everything over a sub-1GHz wireless interface?

I wouldn't think sub-1GHz data rates would be fast enough to stream video. Can you further clarify what you're trying to achieve?

    Best,
    Kevin
  • Hi Kevin,

first of all thanks to reply to me. Yes, you are totally right. The idea is to have a doorbell that works at 868MHz and, every time a person push the button, a set of pictures is sent. I don't need, at least in this moment, to stream a video...I just need to send a set of 1 to 10 pictures (HD or FHD) using H265 compression. Using H265, the size of GOP should be not so high. We have in our lab an evaluation board of CC1352 that works at 868MHz but also 2.4GHz. So, I need to know if you can suggest a similar camera processor than the OV788 but with H265 compression instead of H264. Obviously I would like to use it with CC1352. Is it possible? What I should take into account?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi,

please, can you suggest me a similar camera processor that the OV788 but using H265? Can you or I have to talk with Omnivision for this kind of doubts?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards,

    Antonio

  • Hi Antonio,

Yes you should ask Omnivision or other vendor for that sort of information
