I am trying to Program my own CC3220SF with the XDS110 out using jtag. I have the SOP to all pull down which should be 4w jtag mode.

I do not seem to be able to connect to it. Anything I am missing?

Thanks for providing the picture.

Remove all jumpers on the launchpad.
You may need to power your PCB ( similar post: e2e.ti.com/.../563053 )

Let us know if CCS/Uniflash detects your device.

I tried like the other forum showed and still isn't connecting. They weren't using a cc3220 which may be why this isn't working for me?

What devices does Device Manager show in the Ports section? How are you powering your custom PCB?

It is showing up at the XDS110 on the port.

I am using a USB connector to power my board. The Uniflash see the launchpad and knows it is a CC3220SF even if all the jumpers are off but will not actually connect.

Any other Ideas? Is there something different about CC3220 compared to the CC2650 that they are using in other forum?

Hi,

Uniflash cannot connect to you board because for connection is used UART. UART is not available at XDS110 OUT connector.

Please provide schematic of your board. Please make sure that your JTAG connector is properly oriented. Also you should check that you not have manufacturing issue with soldering of module. Wrong re-flow is pretty common especially at prototype stages.

I am not understanding you?

Uniflash can not do jtag? my board programs through jtag so what am I suppose to use to program chip?

I have two other TI modules on my board all using the same jtag layout so I dont think that is issue but I have attached the schematic for it.

Hi,

For development you can use JTAG (debug from CCS or IAR), but when you need upload image into sFlash you need to use Uniflash via UART. Uniflash cannot use JTAG at CC32xx devices.

JTAG is enabled only in development mode. Into development mode need to be device unlocked by Uniflash software. I am not 100% sure how band new CC3220MOD from factory act. If JTAG is enabled or not. As first step you should make to work UART connection for Uniflash.

Ok, then looks like I need to switch to Uart.

Just to make sure. In switching to Uart , SOP1 should be pulled high? and what are the two Uart pins specifically for programming?

Hi,

SOP1 to high is one of the options (UARTLOAD_FUNCTIONAL_4WJ mode) another option can be SOP2 set to high (UARTLOAD mode). SOP modes are described at datasheet chapter 6.9.1.

At UART for Uniflash are used pins with alias GPIO_01 and GPIO_02 (pins 46 and 47 of module).
