Linux/WL1837MOD: China support for 5GHz

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Tool/software: Linux

Hello Experts,

We are using WL1837MOD and considering to use it in China.

  1. In order to use WL8 in China, is it enough to change a country code? Is there anything to do?
  2. How can we support WAPI?

Regards,

Uchikoshi

  • Uchikoshi ,
"In order to use WL8 in China, is it enough to change a country code? Is there anything to do?"
You will need to get it certified for regulatory compliance in China. Since the module is already certified for FCC/CE, it shouldn't be an issue to meet compliance requirements for China. We have customers using WL18xxMOD in China. Customers can use external lab sporton for certification: www.sporton.com.tw . i will also send the sporton contact info over email .

    "How can we support WAPI?"
    Yes, please check out www.ti.com/.../WILINK8-WIFI-NLCP

    Thanks

  • Hi Saurabh,
Thank you for informing URL about WAPI.
Regarding using WL8 module in China, I understood that RF certification is required. From the point of view of software, are there any additional work for China market? The work for certification is not included in my question.
