CC3220: What is the initial time till AT Command is ready from hibernate to awake?

Part Number: CC3220

Hi team,

Can you please advise back the time that takes to the AT Command to utilize and be ready to receive CMD from hibernate to wake?

And if there is different from nReset to ready to receive CMD?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Shai

  • Hey Shai,

I will test this and share my results with you soon.

  • Hey Shai,

My apologies, I have yet to test this. But I did want to point out that there are timing diagrams/tables in our datasheet that can give you an estimate of how long this would take. Keep in mind that this time will vary and depend on the application board, power supply, decoupling caps, and image size. See section 4.14.3.

  • Hey Shai,

I've tested and measured the time from reset and hibernate until the AT Command is ready using a CC3220SF LaunchPad and logic analyzer.

From reset to command ready, I measured 1.6s.

After waking up from hibernate to command ready, I measured 2.6s.

    Hope this helps,

    Seong

  • Seong Hello,

Thank you for testing it out, My customer is using AT COMMAND in a battery-based application,
therefore the importance of the times is critical to be optimized.
The results you specify do not look so good especially the wake up from hibernate (I think this should take less time).
by the way my customer as also done a few tests and he got a better results an average of 0.9s from hibernate.
could you please advise if there is a way to shorten response times?

There is another phenomenon that my customer experiences, when he puts the device in hibernate (the device should not send any interrupts) he somethimes get event interrupts at random times after the device gets sleep.
There main concern is that the device does not go into sleep properly (cost in battery juice).
Can you please explain what happens in the device when using AT+Stop and what could be the reason for getting event after the device is a sleep?

    Thanks in advance
    Sincerely yours,
    Shai
