Your linux distribution would most likely have the WL18xx NLCP drivers. You can check the the version using the following command.

grep Rev /lib/firmware/ti-connectivity/wl18xx-fw-4.bin

What kernel version is distributed with this morty-fslc-4.1.15-mx6-v1.1 youcto version?
If the Linux kernel is >v4.4 you can actually use the drivers that are part of this kernel and just make sure you use and updated firmware file from:
git.kernel.org/.../ti-connectivity

Please let me know which version is recommended in that case.

Hi,

I am not familiar with the yocto versioning.
For building with a v4.1 kernel I suggest you use our build scripts for building the latest drivers (currently r8.7_sp3) with your kernel.
But this is not using oe recipes:

Latest yocto doesn't include building our drivers using backports any longer as the drivers have been up-stream to mainline and using a kernel which is 4.4 and up you can just use the in-tree drivers.

In the past we used to have a recipe for building the wl18xx drivers using backports, but this recipe is not used any longer and has not been updated for latest release tag:
arago-project.org/.../

You can check whether your yocto disto has this recipe "ti-compat-wireless-wl18xx.bb" or can use this older version of the recipe and see if you can update the tag for "R8.7_SP3" and try to build the latest version of the drivers.
