CC3200: Not able to connect WIFI in OTA update example application

I flashed ota_update example application from SDK1.3.0. After flashing, not able to connect to WiFi, the WiFi status shows always connecting....Below mentioned is the output getting in serial port terminal. But able to connect WiFi in get_weather example application. Only with ota_update application, not able to connect to WIFI. How to fix this? Many thanks for the support in advance.

Hi Srinivasan K,

The OTA update example connects to the default AP parameters. Do you have SSID_NAME, SECURITY_KEY, and SECURITY_TYPE set in example/common/common.h?

Hi Sarah,

I changed AP parameters in common.h. I'm able to connect wifi using other examples(say get_wether application). Only facing problem with Ota_update application.

Hi Srinivasan K,

Can you print the return code for sl_WlanConnect (in NetWlanConnect of main.c) to the terminal? You can also add a print statement to the SL_WLAN_CONNECT_EVENT case of the SimpleLinkWlanEventHandler of net.c.

Hi Sarah,

I added code to print the return values. But in the terminal return value is not printed. On further debugging, I got to know that the control doesn't come out of NetStartDefaultState API in GetNTPTimeTask. I'm trying to debug why the control is not coming out of NetStartDefaultState API.

Hi Srinivasan K.,

NetStartDefaultState() is in net.c of the application code. I suggest setting stepping through this function to determine which SimpleLink API is not returning.

Hi Sarah,

On further debugging, I got to know that stack overflow is happening from Hwi_checkstack API{Pls refer attached screenshot Hwi_checkStack.jpg}. I tried modify Program.stack under app.cfg to different values, but still the stack overflow happens. Can you please help me to fix this?

Hi Srinivasan K,

Can you determine which task stack is overflowing? Try commenting out the other osi_TaskCreate calls in main.c.
