CC3220: Use CC3220 as a WiFi Sniffer

I want to use the CC3220 to query the MAC addresses of all the devices within range. Is this possible? If so, is there example code to do this?

Further, I'd like to see the source and destination IP address of all WiFi packets. Is that possible too?

Hi Joe,

The transceiver mode example for the Gen 1 devices discusses using the device as a sniffer. This is similar to Gen 1, and the code can be migrated to Gen 2 devices: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC3100_&_CC3200_Transceiver_Mode

You can also check out transceiver mode for Gen 2 in the network_terminal example in the SDK, and take a look at the Transceiver mode section of the NWP Programmer's Guide: http://www.ti.com/lit/swru455

Thanks for your response. However, I've already looked at transceiver mode and the data output to the terminal console was nothing like what I'm after. It does not show MAC addresses. Do you know if that data is present, but just not displayed on the console? If so, I'm sure I could decode it from the data packets.
