Hi,

I am using CC3220SF launchpad which is placed inside a panel box, I want to use an external antenna to increase a range.

Please suggest me how to select an external antenna for CC3220SF launchpad or suggest any suitable one.

    Dear Sagar - 

    In the regulatory reports there are lists of antennas tested for the regions

    FCC ==>  (see Part C PDF, page 6)

    CE==> the EN300328 PDF, page 6

    we also have Japan and Canada reports in this section of the product page

    Hi Josh,
    Thanks for reply, I am using a cc3220sf launchpad which has a onboard U.FL connector.
    So to use this connector with external antenna can I use any generic cable assembly and antenna available in market.
    If any specific cable assembly (U.FL to SMA) and antenna (SMA) is needed please suggest me.

    U.FL to U.FL will work here. If you look at any of the antennas in the list, and then find one you would like to use, see the associated data sheet 

    for example - the Ethertronics dipole antenna suggests 15, 30, 45 and 60cm cables are available from them.(page 2)

     

    vendors like digikey offer premade cables of various lengths, too.
