CC3220: Can I use MX25R3233FM1 as the bootup S-Flash

Hi,

I'm developing a board with CC3220SF.

Uniflash can connect to the board via CC3220-LAUNCHXL.

But it cannot activate/program S-flash. (occurred a timeout error)

My board has MX25R3233FM1 as the S-flash.

Do you have tested the device?

Do I have to change the S-flash, same as CC3220-LAUNCHXL?

Hi Zeajong,

Are you sure that you have MX25R3233 flash chip? I did not find this part at Macronix webpage.

I mis-typed, Sorry.

It is MX25L3233FM1.

Hi Zeajong,

List of compatible and tested sFlash chips you find at www.ti.com/lit/an/swra515/swra515.pdf

In case of you selecting memory which is not at recommended list, important things:
- supported commands described at chapter 1.2
- block protection is not enabled by default

According quick look into datasheet it looks, that this flash may to be compatible (without guarantee).

Hi Jan,

Ok, I will try to use MX25R3235FM1(recommended one), too .
It would be give an answer for this problem.
But it takes time, about 2 weeks.
