Hi. My company is trying to utilize a Skorpio X4 (Windows Embedded 7, firmware version 1.30) handheld that has the WL1837MOD technology in it. It's driver version lists MCP-8.0.0.47_Release_3.3. We have an issue where the handheld will not connect to our corporate WPA2-Enterprise WiFi. The handheld has connected to WPA2 PSK WiFis with no problems. But it won't work with ours. We have tried connecting to our SSID by scanning, and then manually creating a new profile with the WiFi utility. Either way it's the same: The connection status changes back and forth between "associating with DQ-CORP" and "disconnected". We currently use this WiFi setup throughout our organization at the corporate office, and at least 55 other sites that we administer. We have surface tablets/computers, iPads, iPhones, android phones, and windows computers that connect to our WiFi with no issues. On our Windows desktop/laptop clients we have to create the connection manually in order for them to connect. The connection setup we use on the Skorpio X4 and Windows clients is as follows: EAP Type-PEAP; Validate server certificate - deselected; Use anonymous outer identity - deselected; Use saved username and password; Authentication Method - EAP-MSCHAPv2.
We have tried everything we know (different setup options, clean resetting handheld, firmware upgrade) how in getting this working. The firmware that the handheld is running on now is the most current, and recommended by Datalogic. After tracking down the wifi module manufacturer, I came to your site and saw this similar question in a related forum. Can anyone recommend anything else to try? Could this be an issue with the module itself?
Thanks,
Richard
