CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: UniFlash will flash in Development mode but not Production mode.

I have a CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL which I'm able to flash in Development mode with UniFlash 4.3.1. When I attempt to program in Production mode though things fail. The popup dialog zips through the "Programming" percentages, then pauses for a very long time. Eventually a dialog pops up that says "Operation failed: Timeout reading data".

I'm using a code signing certificate issues by ssl.com, I believe I have that setup correctly.

Yes, it appears to complete in Production mode using the dummy cert chain.

I'm starting to think the signing authority is the problem.

It looks like the root cert is :

"SSL.com Root Certification Authority RSA"

Which I can't find in the list of root CAs in the catalog.

Who issues Code Signing Certs that TI supports?

I have some updates, but things are still not working...

I've switched to a certificate signed by "GoDaddy", the root certificate of the chain has the common name "Go Daddy Root Certificate Authority - G2".

This root is specifically mentioned in the file "~/ti/simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_2_20_00_10/tools/cc32xx_tools/certificate-catalog/readme.md".

So at this point if I use the playground certs things work, if I try and use a real cert I get the same read timeout error originally posted about.

This is very frustrating as the error message means absolutely nothing.

The documentation says you can place the entire chain in a PEM file. This doesn't work. Well, in actuality it appears to work as far as UniFlash is concerned. But apparently it doesn't work at the chip level.

I converted everything to "der", named all the files according to the CN and things appear to work.

I'm not sure why the PEM formats do not work, but some better error messages would certainly make life easier.
