Linux/DRA76P: Bluetooth

Part Number: DRA76P

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

We are using the Wilink1835 Com8 chip  on Jacinto6 plus board, We need to enable uart3  for bluetooth but Uart3 is using for boot log. how can we enable uart3 for bluetooth?

we have  integrated with the Bluetopia stack and set "gpio=132" (Bluetooth enable pin ) and  baud_rate=3000000,but while initializing the Bluetopia stack as mentioned in the TI wiki,the following error was observed.

SPPM>SetDevicePower 1

echo 132 > /sys/class/gpio/export
sh: line 0: echo: write error: Device or resource busy
echo out > /sys/class/gpio/gpio132/direction
echo 0 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio132/value
echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio132/value
echo 0 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio132/value
echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/gpio132/value
BT COMM PORT (/dev/ttyO2): -5
DEVM_PowerOnDevice() Failure: -14, Unknown Error.
Function Error.

Could someone help us to know what is causing this error.

Thank you,

Deepthi

  • Please, ensure the DTB file is correctly updated with the pinmux for the UART being used.. Is it a custom board or EVM?

    Thanks
  • Hi Hari,

    Thank you for the reply.

    It is Jacinto6 plus EVM. From the dtb  I get to know that UART3 is already enabled for boot console How can I use it for bluetooth enabling?

    Thank you,

    Deepthi.

  • Please, check the schematics to find the UART wired to COM8 for BT. It is not clear to me. Do, you mean UART3 is used for console as well?

    Thanks
  • Hi Hari,

    We check schametic of J6+ and according to this, bt_uart is connected to uart3 and uart3 is active and we got user space node corresponding to this as ttyS2 and also enabled bt by gpio pin 132(GPIO5_4) and set muxer route is with exteneded gpio (480+16) i.e p16 in pcf8575 to connect with bt uart.
    we set :-
    p15 = 1;
    p16 = 0;
    Here, we are using Wl1835com8b module for bluetooth and wifi and this module connector is similar to com8q connector in J6+. So wifi is working but bluetooth is not working. So, could you tell me that any bluetooth driver is need to configure for bluetooth or just we need to provide some dts information. And how and which firmware should be loaded for this bluetooth.

    Please tell us about bluetooth driver, firmware and proper configuration for Wl1835com8b to make it work.

    Thanks & Regards
    Deepthi
  • Hi Deepti,

    I have n't tried COM8Q with Jacinto6 plus board.. I will check, if there is a board around here to try..
    Anycase, i suggest the following - To ensure that the pin mux and wiring connections are ok.. You can either check the Bt/HCI UART lines and GPIO with a scope and/or you can use the "hci_test" program from this thread to verify that the basic connection to the BT chip is ok.. This test program is only intended to test basic connectivity between Host and BT controller..

    Thanks
  • Hi Deepti,

    We, haven't heard from you.. Is it resolved? I am closing for now.. Please re-open if needed..

    Thanks
