CC3220: Are the SOP Pins Status/Level (pre-boot values) Available to the User Code/Application..

Part Number: CC3220

Hi Team Wifi,

According to the TRM (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru465/swru465.pdf section 16.8.6) “Sense-on-power (SoP) values are sensed from the device pin during power up. This encoding determines the boot flow, as well as the default mapping for some of the pins (JTAG, SWD, UART0). Three SoP pins are used for this purpose. Before the device is taken out of reset, the SOP values are made available on a register and determine the device character while powering up. Table 16-14 shows the pull configurations”.

Does "SOP values are made available on a register" mean that the user/application has access to the (pre-boot) values of the SOP pins via some register(s) available to the User Software?  What register address are hey available at?

Thanks, Merril

  • Hi Newman,

I think that section is supposed to mean that the bootloader has access to the SOP pin state after reset and before code is loaded. The application itself does not have access to the SOP pin state information.

In any case, I do not see how the SOP state information would be useful to the application. How are you trying to use the SOP state information?

    Regards,
    Michael
