WL1837MOD: Antenna selection for the WL1837MOD

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Fig 1.1 on the datasheet for this part shows a 2.4GHz SPDT and 5 GHz DPDT. Is there anything preventing me from using two 2.4Ghz, one for RF_ANT1 and the other for RF_ANT2, and operating these channels in parallel, thus doubling my throughput?

This thread did not totally address my question. Does MIMO mode indicate that both antennas can be transmitting and receiving simultaneously, so that through-put is doubled? I saw a couple references to MIMO in the documentation, but no detailed description for the part. The part overview does mention: 2 × 2 MIMO at 2.4 GHz for High Throughput: 80 Mbps (TCP), 100 Mbps (UDP). I wish to documentation would provide more detail on this.

Yes, in MIMO mode both antennas transmit or receive simultaneously hence increasing the throughput. WiLink8 supports MCS8 - MCS15 rates on 2.4 GHz band
