Hello,

I understand the CC3200 supports mDNS client functionality. Does it support (unicast) DNS server functionality, either internally (NWP) or through a TI library implementation for the M4? I saw the "DNS Server" checkbox in the AP Config Group in UniFlash - it that only for the gen 2 CC3220?

Hi D,

The DNS server is supported (internally by NWP) for an AP role only.

Thank you for your response, Kobi. Could you refer me to any documentation or example on how to configure the DNS Server on the NWP in AP role? I did not see a DNS Server option for sl_NetAppStart() nor a section in the CC3200 User Guide, for example (just mDNS). Thank you!

Hi D,

Sorry for the confusion.
The DNS server functionality is only partial.
It only supports the URN (set with sl_NetAppSet) for the AP mode and this is enabled by default when AP mode is used. So you can connect to the device using its name rather than the IP Address.
