Linux/CC3220: CC3220 is sutable

Dear sir,

We are using begalbone black,in this we want to connect Serial to Wi-Fi converter (CC3220) .

The actual required function is within 300meters range if sending command through Wi-Fi router this CC3220 module has to take and convert to SPI/RS232 data., this data we will take and give acknowledgment. this acknowledgment data to be convert to Wi-Fi.

For this application we are selected this CC3220 module .This is the stable module for us? If not please suggest the best.

Hi N.S.Prateep,

A range of 300 meters is very marginal in regards to Wi-Fi (you might consider using extenders or other RF technologies such Sub-1 GHz).
The CC3220 wifi_serial example basically demonstrate the serial connection emulation over wifi.

Dear sir,

I have missed one point , At Railway station 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi available . if we have to connect to that Wi-Fi this CC3220 module will support?, because it is under sub-1Ghz . The Wi-Fi 5Ghz , 2.4Ghz , 900Mhz & sub-1Ghz can all are connect to each other?

If not Please suggest suitable part in Wi-Fi 2.4 Ghz part.

Hi N.S.Prateep,

Yes, CC3220 module can support your requirement.
It work in 2.4 GHz band.
If you are using Beaglebone, you can also use the Wilink8 (e.g. www.ti.com/.../WL1837MOD) that is natively integrated to Linux systems including the Beaglebone.
