WL1831MOD: BLE power levels

Part Number: WL1831MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1831

Hello,

I see that on the WL1831 the BLE power levels can be set from 7 (highest) to 0 (lowest).

I cannot find any documentation to indicate what the different power levels are. What is the level in dBm for each of the 8 settings?

Thanks;
LEO

  • Hi,
    Please refer to www.ti.com/.../swru442b.pdf pg 39. Ex: For BLE , level 7 corresponds to 10 dBm and so on.

    Thanks

  • Ok, but that does not make sense as in the datasheet for the part it says that power for BLE is 7dBm, so where is the discrepancy?

    Also per that document 10dBm will be in low power mode, our power supply is always 3.3V so that means we are always in high power mode, so is the power then 15.5dBm, which would be double what is in the datasheet.
