Yes, thank you, I did take a look at this document (after our board was completed).  

It looks like from table 7 that the UART1 needs to be connected to CC3220 pins 55,57.  Is this the only option?

Our JTAG is connected to the TDI and TDO lines which can also be configured for UART1.  Would this work if I set the uart in the source to point to those pins?

I set the code to configure the jtag pins to point to uart1.  Still having trouble connecting the software with my device.

Any thoughts?

Did you changed UART_open() to be used UART1 instead UART0? Did you changed UART1 configuration in CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL.c to pins 16, 17 (JTAG_TDI, JTAG_TDO at QFN)?

Hi Jan,

I updated the code to use UART1 on UART_open().  Pins 16 and 17 are set for UART1.
Still not working.

Currently my SOP lines are all pulldown.  Looks like I might have to change my SOP lines for SOP0 to pullup?  this would set it to FUNCTIONAL_2WJ and use TMS and TCK, but not TDI and TDO.  Would this work to allow me to use UART1 on those pins, in a non flash/SRAM mode?

Hi Joe,

I am not 100% sure, but I think you can use UART1 at JTAG pins regardless SOP mode. In case of debug session with 4-wire JTAG is currently used, and you you call UART_open() with setup UART to 16, 17 pins, your debug session will be terminated. That means in case you want to use debug and UART at pins 16, 17 you need to use SOP setup for SWD.
