WL1837MOD: Bluetooth Audio Sample Rate Adaption

Actually this should be posted to Bluetooth forum, but it no longer exists, so please forward to engineers who handle bluetooth issues.

Question:

We need to transmit/receive audio on WL1837MOD interface at 48k sample rate, but the Bluetooth Speaker Microphone (RSM) works at 8k sample rate (64k bitrate at standard SCO connection). Will WL1837MOD do rate adaption between 8k and 48k sample rate?

Hi,

The WL18xx will not perform upsample of SCO/eSCO data to 48kHz.

Hi Vihang,

I didn't ask WL1837MOD to upsample of SCO/eSCO to 48kHz.

My question was, if WL1837MOD can do the following sample rate adaption:

48k (I2S interface) -> 8k (SCO/eSCO connection) and

8k (SCO/eSCO connection) -> 48k (I2S interface)

Hi,

The WL18xx cannot do 8k to and from 48k sample rate conversion for voice connection (different data path than A3DP music). I understand what you are looking for, and it is not possible.
