Hello,

do I need to make more than one "hop" in a mesh-network with more than 10-nodes? (Maximum number of connected peers per single peer in the network is limited to 10)

Yes, this is correct.
Each wilink8 device can handle up to 10 active connections (total) so if each hop is seeing different devices, it allows the total number of nodes in the system to go beyond 10.
