CCS/CC3220: CC3220 LOW POWER

Part Number: CC3220

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear TI engineers,

Good afternoon! There are some questions about CC3220:

1. We have tested several demo with CC3220 EVM board, however, the power  is  a little high. The LPDS Mode's power has already been over 110μA, and the Always Connected Mode power  has reached more than 700 μA.  Is there a way help me to reduce the power?

2. In addition to the test app for Simple Link, are there other testing tools?

Looking forward to your support,thanks!

  • Hi Robin,

The typical current consumption values for the device are in the datasheet, and the numbers you listed in your post are similar. How far over these values do you mean? Are you running the power_measurement example from the SDK?

If you're working with the CC3220 LaunchPad, be sure you are following instructions to measure just the power consumption of the CC3220 instead of the entire board. Please see the Power Measurement Test Setup section of the Power Management App Note: http://www.ti.com/lit/swra502

    Best regards,
    Sarah
