WL1837MOD: Using different Antenna

Part Number: WL1837MOD

Hello,

we want to use the WL1837MOD with an external antenna other than the one certified with FCC testing (LSR 001-0012).

The FCC Grant of WL1837MOD says "Separate approval is required for all other operating configurations, including […] different antenna configurations.

In contrast, the http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/WL18xxMOD_Regulatory_Product_Certification#Certified_antenna_types page says "The part number is for reference only - any antenna from the listed types with equal or lower gain can be used for reuse of certification".

Can we use a different antenna of the same type (Dipole) with equal or lower gain without a C2PC or is it necessary? According to the Grant a separate approval would be necessary, but not according to the Website. Could you please clarify this?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards
