Linux/WL1835MOD: Adjust tx power

Hi,

We use WL1835MOD in our oroduct. When certification testing (FCC & EU) was performed for it, the tx power for which all the tests passed have been confirmed to us by the certification lab. We now want to set this tx power. Where and how do we set it?

Hi,

You can use the calibrator tool for setting Tx Power during tests:

The Tx power can be also adjusted using the .ini file that produces wl18xx-conf.bin using the wlconf application which is used in operational mode.

However, the .ini files are produced and provide by the module vendor and are carefully tuned for cerification etc.
It is not wise to make changes to it as you will break your certification.

So we strongly advise against making such changes unless you really know what you are doing.

Hi Eyal,

We wanted to set the tx power for the WiFi mode (not the PLT mode) based on the certification report. If not for the .ini file is there no way to set the tx power in the WiFi mode?

Hi,

The answer for this would be no.

You can't control the Tx power from the drivers at run time.

The maximum tx power values are set using the .ini file into wl18xx-conf.bin and the firmware handles the tx power internally during run time.
