Hi community !

By testing the local ota example of SDK2.40, we have noticed an issue, while running the update.

When trying to download the file wirelessfull.png, its name has been modified to wirelessfull.png0000644, thus generating OtaArchive error -20199.

By comparing with SDK2.30, this error does not happen.

See logs of both SDK2.40 and SDK2.30.

Hi,

Flashing my CC3220 Launchpad with the uniflash project provided in the latest SDK, running the latest local_ota example through the debugger, and then providing the latest .tar provided through the web interface at <cc3220 IP./ota.html resulted in no errors on my end.

Can you try ensuring that you are using all of the items below from the latest SDK version:

The Uniflash project from examples/rtos/CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL/demos/local_ota/uniflash
The local_ota project from examples/rtos/CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL/demos/local_ota/
The .tar OTA bundle from examples/rtos/CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL/demos/local_ota/tirtos/ccs/

Then, run the example again and see if you still run into the same issue?

Hi Michael,

When using the .tar bundle from the SDK, it works fine (except that only the first OTA progress bar messages ("[ota report task] OTA progress 1%") went out, then no more. (see log file)

Side question: Any idea how to fix this?

I've started from scratch again. The .tar provided in the SDK worked fine. And then compiled my own .tar and it also worked ! I guess that last time the file got corrupted while creating the .tar file.

Hi Vincent,

I'm glad that you managed to get the local ota example working.
I'm looking at the progress bar issue, and it seems like there is something in the otaReportServerTask() that encounters a socket error, which prevents the progress bar updates being sent to your browser. On my end, I actually encounter an error when the progress bar is at 0%. This will need some more investigation, and I will most likely be filing a bug report so that the SDK team can take a look at it. It'll probably be a while before they resolve their investigation, so I'll be closing this thread for now. I'll update this thread when I get another update on that progress bar issue.

Let me know if you need more clarification or if you have further questions on this topic.

Hi Michael,

It actually happened again ! The file wirelessfull.png0000644 showed up in the bundle.

EDIT: unzipping the .tar file shows that the file in question is not corrupted (yet?)...

The UniFlash project from SDK2.40 has been taken. And it worked. After changing the mcuflashimg.bin a bunch of times, the generated ota bundle contains the corrupted file. If a new UniFlash project is imported from SDK2.40, the bundle works fine again.
