CC3220MODA: Can the CC3220MODA be debugged on custom hardware using CCS and XDS200 or (?)

Part Number: CC3220MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3220MOD

I would like to be able to use the CCS IDE / debugger interface to be able to fully debug my target firmware ( not flash program ).

Can this be done using the XDS200 (or another probe model ) connected to the correct pins on the chip on the custom board, and having the code built for debug mode (such as when using the LAUNCHC3220MODASF)?

If so, is there a document on the correct hardware connection requirements as well as debug mode firmware project setup in the CCS IDE?

Thanks,

Robert

  • Hi Robert,

Yes, you can debug CC3220MOD by XDS200 or XDS110 from CCS. At your CC3220 LanuchPad you already have XDS110. You can use this XDS110 for debug of your module. For four wire JTAG you need to connect TDI, TDO, TCK, TMS and GND. You can search e2e forum, there is more threads covering this topic.
