CC3220SF: Disable 802.11g/n Modes

Part Number: CC3220SF

Does the CC3220 NWP provide the capability to disable 802.11g and 802.11n modes such that it only uses 802.11b?

Thanks,

Stuart

  • Hi Stuart,

In connected mode (AP, STA) this API is not available. You can be set at transceiver mode only. In connected mode is this maintained by NWP ("wifi coprocessor") itself automatically. Generally there is no particular reason set this 802.11 mode manually. There is no significant benefit at power consumption or range distance.

But if you need set exact 802.11 mode, this task can be done at AP (network infrastructure) side.

  • In this case, the customer was hoping to avoid the additional costs involved by their test house having to test 802.11g/n modes.
