CC3200: Radio tool command for long guard interval (LGI) in MCS7 mode

Part Number: CC3200

Hello Wi-Fi expert,

My customer want to use the same Short GI value in all MCS0-MCS7 mode during their manufacture test process. However there's no such command in RadioTool CLI. How do we specify guard interval? or any suggestion for the RF test? Thank you very much.

regards,

Jo

  • Hi Jo,

Just to be clear, you are saying some tests being run indicate the guard interval is appearing as short only for MCS7? We do not have an API for controlling this parameter.

  • Hi Aaron,

Our engineer are validating CC3200's TX power & EVM by using Keysight N4010A.

We found that CC3200's MCS7 EVM is too low.

    However,  MCS0-MC6's EVM are normal.

After double checked, we found some output from Keysight N4010A like previous two screenshots.(MCS6 and MCS7)

It indicates us: CC3200 uses LongGI when MCS0-MCS6 but CC3200 uses ShortGI when MCS7 mode.

We can't find any parameter and setting about ShortGI via RadioTool CLI/GUI.

    >We do not have an API for controlling this parameter.

Is it possible that we can fix ShortGI parameter in the source code for radiotool.bin hardcodely?

(We have already tried finding some keywords in source code but ...)

Could you help to advise your comment?

    Thanks for your kind support.

    Best Regards,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

No it is not possible to change the short GI parameter  in the source code for radiotool.bin. One thing that can possibly be happening in your setup is that the VSA demodulator is choosing the GI manually instead of learning it from the HT-SIG. Please  check this configuration on the VSA (see below).

    Thanks,
