There was an earlier thread on the query of OV798 +CC3220 , where Benjamin from TI mentioned that the development is in the works.

IS there any progress or update on this?

Hi Vijay,

We have verified a working setup incorporating OV798 +CC3220, but we currently have not made any decision about releasing a completed design for it.

Will the software available for OV788 reference design, work for OV798 also?

I assume that, it will be different.
