HI everybody ,

i m using CC3100 and my final product will be sold in many countries.

I m using module as ACCESS POINT .

now some confermations :

Country code – as far as I understand being AP I can ignore : am I right ?

TX power – Sets the maximal transmit power of the Wi-Fi subsystem.

WLAN_GENERAL_PARAM_OPT_AP_TX_POWER : any special care on this depending on country ?

Operational channel.

WLAN_AP_OPT_CHANNEL any special care on this depending on country ?

any other setting I must check and set properly ?

Hi Carlo,

The AP needs to configure the Country Code.

Regulatory domains dictate the maximum power and the channels that you can use.

So for example in US you can only set WLAN_AP_OPT_CHANNEL to values between 1-11 (while in Europe and Japan you also can use channels 12-13).

Hi Carlo,

We don't have specific documentation about regulatory domains. This is a common information and details can be found online.

The Simplelink device supports both the setting of the country code (for AP), and the adjustment of the TX power and operating channel through the sl_WlanSet API - details on the use can be found in the header file (<SDK-ROOT>/simplelink/include/wlan.h).

and what about Russia and China ? I cannot find in the country code ...

how can i do for these countries ?

Hi Carlo,

RU and CN operate under the ETSI guidelines (i.e. the European standard).
