There is an issue with the test library for WL18 or the WL18 firmware itself. With our firmware booted in PLT mode PLT_ON (Rev 8.9.0.0.79), and with these parameters as per the link below:
“
calibrator wlan0 wl18xx_plt stop_tx
calibrator wlan0 wl18xx_plt tune_channel 1 0 1
calibrator wlan0 wl18xx_plt set_tx_power 20000 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0
calibrator wlan0 wl18xx_plt start_tx 0 4 500 0 0 1 0 0 00:11:22:33:44:55 01:02:03:04:05:06 0
“
We are not getting 100mW/20dBm (20000 setting), but instead 1mW/0dBm.
Please inform how to set the output power to 100mW/20dBm.
We wasted half a day at the test institute looking for Spurious which was not there, due to this issue.
Changing the 20000 parameter changes the output value correspondingly, but maximum is 20000 and there we only get 1mW/0dBm out of the module.
It seems that you are attenuating the output 20dBm
The module is placed on a DART-MX6Q_800C_2048R_8G_WB_CT_LO_REV1.31A from Variscite.
Hi Ajayt,
A few questions for clarification:
1) are you doing this in conducted or radiated mode.
2) what INI file are you using? You should be using the WL1835MOD_C2PC.INI file
3) Since you are using Calibrator commands, did you go thru the configuration to ensure you set the device up properly?
4) Are you measuring on the correct antenna port?
5) Note that although you trying to set to 20 dBm, you will not be able to achieve this as the INI file and FW will limit the power. 0 dBm is low and expect this to be closer to 12 to 15dBm.
6) have you run thru with one of our COM8 boards and RTTT? I would suggest this as well so you can ensure you are measuring the appropriate power and thus have a point of reference.
Thanks,
Riz
