I'd like to test out my CC3235SF RF performance with a Rohde & Schwarz CMW-500. Is there an example build I could load that is compatible with connecting to a CMW?

Steve,
Yes, the RadioTool GUI serves as a control panel for direct access to the CC3235SF's radio for both TX and RX testing (Refer to Section 7.2 and 7.3 in the Radio Tool User's Guide). It can also be used for both RF evaluation and for certification testing purposes.

Seong,
The Radio Tool does not work with a CMW-500. Do you have an example build that would allow me to test the device using a CMW-500?
This link provides a useful app note to explain some of the WLAN testing done with a CMW-500: https://scdn.rohde-schwarz.com/ur/pws/dl_downloads/dl_application/application_notes/1c107/1C107_2e_WLAN_SignalingData_TestConfig.pdf
Thanks,
Steve
Hello Seong,
I would like to know what tests TI recommends to ensure the design meets WLAN standards, but the CMW can test Tx power, spectrum mask, spurious emissions, frequency tolerance, frequency leakage, spectral flatness, modulation accuracy and EVM. Also Rx tests like sensitivity, adjacent channel rejection, and CCA sensitivity.
Thanks,
Steve
Steve,
You can download the LAUNCHXL-CC3235's CE, FCC, and ISED Certification Reports from this page. These reports show which RF tests were done to certify the board by each region and it also outlines the test procedures. Note that the Radio Tool GUI was used for these tests to provide channel/frequency selection, power level, data rate for continuous TX and RX signals.
I'm not clear as to why you're saying that the Radio Tool GUI will not work with the CMW-500. Could you please explain as to why?
BR,
Seong
The CMW-500 acts like an access point and uses ICMP echo requests to get a response from the DUT. It uses the echo packets from the DUT for measurements. As far as I can tell you can't attach the DUT to an access point with the radio tool, and it is not set up to automatically respond when pinged.
After a lot of trial and error I determined how to get our DUT to work with the CMW-500. A standard firmware build that allows the DUT to connect to an AP and automatically sends ICMP response pings should work. There are a few settings on the CMW-500 that are tricky so I recommend reading through Rohde & Schwarz app notes 1C106 and 1C107.
