I'd like to send post-processed data from mmWave radar IWR6843 to CC3235, then send data to another CC3235 module. At this stage, I want to focus on how CC3235 can get correct data from IWR6843 via UART. Because tracking data from radar are not only text message, so it's more complicated. Please tell me the way to receive data via UART.

I see some functions in UARTCC32xx.c code:

what's the purpose of UARTCC32XX_control and UARTCC32XX_hwiIntFxn?

UARTCC32XX_init : I don't see any code in this function

UARTCC32XX_open

UARTCC32XX_readCancel: Do we really need this one?

For my application, should I use UARTCC32XX_read or UARTCC32XX_readPolling?

What's the definition of UARTCC32XX_Object?

Besides, in document TIDA-010022, I see it mentions wifi module sends Cfg to IWR6843 via CLI UART port, and IWR6843 send data back to wifi module via a separate UART port? As I know, there's only 1 UART port. What's the difference between CLI UART port and UART port? Can't we use 1 UART port for communication between wifi module and another module?

Please see UART examples in CC32xx SDK (non-RTOS: \examples\nortos\CC3235S_LAUNCHXL\drivers\uartecho\ or RTOS version: \examples\rtos\CC3235S_LAUNCHXL\drivers\uartecho\).

Hi Jan,

The example UART only transfer char type. Can we read/write data structure via that sample code? Anyways, there're many other things above such as difference between UARTCC32XX_read and UARTCC32XX_readPolling. Please explain more details.

Hi,

You should use high level API from TI Driver (UART.h). Files which you mentioned are internal implementation for CC32xx devices. Generally you don't need care about this internal implementation.

Hi Jan,

No matter which device, on CC3235, which pins do you use for UART communication? Do we only use RX,TX or also need to connect GND, 3v3 pin?

By the way, I see SOP[2:0] in datasheet mentions 5 modes: What's the difference between (1). flash programming. (2). Functional mode and flash programming. Can I set SOP[2:0] = 010 for flashing and operating? Why do they separate 2 switch setting 010 and 100?

About UART signals, how to set switch? I see there're 2 ways of setting UART switch:

1). UART Routed to USB COM Port.

2). UART Routed to 20-Pin Header Connector

Which one do I need to use for my application?
