The ZIGBEE CC2530/BLUETOOTH CC2541 can be tested for RF without additional firmware through CC DEBUG/SMART RF STUDIO.
When running CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL/CC31XX/CC32XX Radio Tool v1.0.3.14, the following error message appears:

If you look at SWRA568 5PAGE,

[The CC3220 program may have a built-in subroutine dedicated to RF testing.]

Why can't connect to the rf tool program?

Do I need other firmware/tool to connect RF TOOL?

Hi,

To be able radio tools with CC3220 device you need to have upload "radio-tools firmware/image" inside device. This firmware is a part of radio-tools package.

What do you want to achieve? Radio-tools are generally used during device certification. If you want to do Wifi communication with CC32xx you can use CCS and examples from SDK.

When TOOL is installed, [C:\ti\CC3xxx_RadioTool_1.0.3.14\Device Images\CC3220SF image folder] is empty.

Other folders have files(Programming.bin/Programming.hex/Programming.sli/Programming.ucf)

Is there a path to receive CC3220SF image that can use RF TOOL?

Hi,

Yes, I see same empty directory "CC3220SF image" inside 1.0.3.14 radio tools version. It seems this is a bug.

Easiest way for you will be use older version of radio tools 1.0.3.13.
